LifeLight, end of festival season, and all things weather related.
LifeLight bannerGreetings from the FH-AP department! LifeLight (hosted in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, home of Taco Johns and lots of cows) was an incredible weekend of music, speakers, and more funnel cake than you could ever want.

The weekend started off with Foolish Things, our friends from Colorado, and ended with a star studded closing night at which Jars of Clay preformed on main stage, clad in gym socks, 80's basketball shorts, and polo shirts. Entertaining to say the least.

Saturday the temperatures started to hike up, but the team did great, as did Derek Webb, Remedy Drive, Leeland, and Chris Tomlin, all preforming on main stage with or without the heat. Let's just say it gets a little sweaty under all those lights.

Some of our partner bands, including Willet, Through a Glass, and Leeland all gave us mad props on stage, some of them even handed out packets during their performance, and we applaud and appreciate their willingness to serve!

There were throngs of people there on Saturday as the sun dipped behind the skyline, leaving a brilliant glow of amber and orange light to enjoy. Then the moon rose, and as it hung low and red in the sky, we could hear people lifting their voices to the Lord. It was truly incredible to see God's people coming together in Praise and adoration.

Sunday was another blessed day, starting off with over 200,000 people attending the morning worship service. Paul Baloche led worship, and the festival grounds felt like a home away from home.

The evening ended with Toby Mac and Tait (yes, of DC Talk fame) coming together to sing some DC Talk favorites along with their own solo project work. As weary festival goers were packing up for the drive home, fireworks lit up the sky like lights on a Christmas tree. It was wonderful really.

sponsorsAll in all, we were blessed to have 235 people partner with us in sponsoring children from Zeway, Ethiopia. Jeremy Willet, Crystal Miller, and Alan and Vicki Greene did an amazing job of drawing people into the cause of poverty in Ethiopia, speaking frankly about their experiences while there. Thank you to everyone who sponsored, spoke on our behalf, or even kept us company at our booth over the weekend! We appreciate you and thank God for you and your faithfulness. Lives are being continually changed and transformed because of your willingness to follow the call of God.

sponsors againThis festival season has been a blessing to us here at FH, especially in the AP department. Over-all, we've seen about 800 children sponsored!! That's over 800 children whose lives, families, and communities will forever be impacted. God is truly good, always!

We'll be out on the road again soon, so look for us at a concert near you!
