Food for the Hungry's artist program left sunny Phoenix, Ariz. early last week and headed to the ALIVE Christian music festival in Canal Fulton, Ohio. We headed east with one goal in mind: to find sponsors for at least 200 children in Sololo, Kenya.

 

During this four-day Christian music festival (June 20-23), speakers Jeremy Willet, Tammy Trent, Crystal Miller and Food for the Hungry President, Ben Homan informed concert-goers of the need in Sololo. This region, in northeastern Kenya, is an area of extreme poverty, full of children who desperately need hope. The audience was challenged to sponsor a child for $28 a month and was informed of FH's and ALIVE's goal to sponsor 200 children.

 

The ALIVE audience responded by rising up to the challenge. We are happy to announce that our goal was not only met, but exceeded! The final tally showed that 227 children were sponsored! Praise God for His faithfulness and for all of the people who responded to His call to sponsor a child! We are confident that God is going to do great things in Sololo, Kenya through these sponsorships.

 

Thank you very much to everyone who sponsored a child and to those who were praying for this event! This past week, hope was brought into the lives of 227 children in Sololo, Kenya, and for that, we are full of joy and praise!
