Food for the Hungry joined over 1,500 Worship leaders who gathered together from all over the United States at Riverbend Church in Austin, Texas for the first annual National Worship Leaders Conference on July 23-26. Hosted by Worship Leader Magazine, the 4-day conference was jam-packed with seminars, exhibitions, technology, texas barbeque and annointed songwriters and worship leaders - including FH artists Ana Laura, GB5 and Phillips, Craig and Dean.
FH sponsored the Tuesday evening night of worship in the main sanctuary of Riverbend Church. Ana Laura and GB5 opened the night, getting the congregation of worshippers dancing, singing and lifting their hands to the Lord with rousing latino salsa psalms and upbeat songs of praise, before moving into quieter Spanish & English worship songs. Ana Laura gave a heartfelt testimony of her time in Bolivia and her Vision Trip video was shown. Then Phillips, Craig and Dean took the stage and concluded the evening with a powerful worship service filled with song, encouragment, laughter and a powerful appeal for our overseas family. There was a sea of hands raised to recieve sponsorship packets, and our volunteers and staff gave out 175 packets and over 80 children were immediately sponsored during the conference. Truly, the Lord was worshipped in spirit and in truth as worship in song and spirit merged with acts of mercy. To God be the glory.
The artist program wants to express its special gratitude to Ana, Rocio, Linda and Ariel Chavez, Josh & Martha Lopez, Louie, Jamie, Isaac, Mark and Aaron Gutierrez, Randy Phillips, Dan Dean, Shawn Craig, and all the band members. We are also blessed to partner with Suzie, Julie, and Phil of Worship Leaders Magazine!
