Care groups multiply your influence 80 times
It’s so simple. Your gift of $35, $50, $150 or more today will allow Food for the Hungry (FH) to teach women small but crucial changes that will keep their children from suffering or dying. Changes in diet. Recognizing danger signs during pregnancy. Washing their hands.
You may not think twice about washing your hands. But in remote villages of the world, it’s a radical new practice.
So we have deployed 10 FH promoters to form care groups in communities worldwide. One promoter recruits and trains eight care groups with 10 mother-leaders in a group. Each mother-leader then forms a Neighbor Circle to teach mothers of young children and their families. 800 families reached per promoter!
Regine is a mother-leader in a village in Africa, where children used to die horrible deaths. Those who survived had miserable, sickly lives. People figured it was just the way life was.
But an FH facilitator arrived on the scene. Regine went through the FH training. You should have seen her eyes when she realized she had the power to change her community from the inside out!
She began teaching mothers that there is a God. He loves you and wants your baby to live, to be happy and healthy. She taught them to wash their hands. Use soap. Get under the nails. And if the baby is sick, skip the witch-doctor. Get to the clinic.
These were shocking new ideas. But gradually, the women tried them. They were desperate to keep their children from being sick.
A miracle began to unfold in Regine's village. In a place with a 90% poverty rate, babies began thriving. Children stayed healthy. Families today are rejoicing in God’s love! Because of care groups.
But elsewhere, children are still hurting, still dying. You hold the key. Please help us start care groups in other villages.
Your gift of $35, $60, $150 or more today will help FH deploy care group facilitators to more villages around the world. Those facilitators will recruit and train 10 "mother-leaders" like Regine. Each mother-leader will reach out to eight women and their families, to form a care group.
You can help FH reach 80 families per facilitator we deploy!
