hungry decisions: male story

Begging is hard on you and you don’t do it very well. Not only does it produce very little food, but it is degrading. You have been looking hard for a job in the city, but to no avail.

Then, almost at the same time, you receive news of two intriguing possibilities: Your brother-in-law would like you to help on his farm, and a Government Communal Farm is seeking new workers. Returning to your brother-in-law’s farm would strengthen family ties, though you would need to hire yourself out to some other farms too. The Government Commune would provide work for as long as you are able.

You and your wife discuss the two possibilities.
