Job Description
This posting is for a critical management position based in Kalemie, Katanga Province along Lake Tanganika in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Shared living quarters and certain restrictions should be expected due to security situation.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Manage USAID and UN funded programs to assist returning refugees in Katanga with infrastructure reconstruction and food security related activities
- Take full responsibility for M&E, reporting, and donor relations as needed
- Take lead role in developing new funding opportunities to assist returning refugees in the coming year
- Advise and guide remote site coordinators in the planning and prioritization of activities and beneficiaries
- Assist in the planning and monitoring of site budgets
- Represent FHI-DRC at provincial level coordination meetings with UN agencies, other NGOs, and humanitarian actors
- Monitor the movements of returning refugees and displaced persons due to conflict, identify their needs, and coordinate interventions on their behalf
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years experience managing USAID and/or other institutional grants in cross cultural situations preferably in the Great Lakes region.
- BA degree from an accredited university applicable to the field of international relief and development (Masters preferred).
- A high level of energy and enthusiasm for serving vulnerable populations in challenging environments
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Maturity that demonstrates working experience in diverse professional settings with significant responsibilities
- Excellent computer skills
- Commit to FHI-Congo for at least two years
- Proficiency in written and spoken French
- Being able to identify with FH’s Statement of Faith
