Pray for honesty in government officials.
Pray for President Mwai Kibaki, that God would grant him the resolve to make good on his campaign promise to tackle the country’s formidable corruption problem and impress upon government officials the importance of honesty.
Pray that the economy of the country rebounds. Lack of consistent rain, the threat of terrorism, and endemic and persistent corruption have all contributed to the economic malaise. Pray that God would look kindly on His people in East Africa, and that He would strengthen them so they can fulfill their potential.

Praise God for the growth of the evangelical church in Kenya. Pray that the churches would bear much fruit and greatly advance God’s kingdom on earth.
Pray for revival in the Kenyan church. Although the majority of people living in Nairobi are Christian, it typically only has a 12 percent church attendance. Pray that the people would seek God with all their hearts, minds and strength.
Pray that Kenyan churches would reach out to those who have not yet embraced the amazing love of God and His salvation.
Pray that God would give courage to the church leaders to confront abuses in the country. In addition to leaders who are corrupt, dissent among the population has been stifled, human rights have been abused, and ethnic groups have been discriminated against. Pray that Christian leaders would unite to speak out against these wrongs.

Pray for families as they recover from natural disasters and slowly rebuild their hopes.
Pray for the young people in Kenya. More than 40 percent of the people of Kenya are under 15 years of age. Pray that the churches would become effective in reaching out to these youths and mentoring them to become strong leaders who faithfully serve God and His people.
Pray that God would have mercy on the 60,000 children living on the streets of Nairobi.
Pray for strong family leadership in Bible study and prayer.

Pray for Food for the Hungry’s Child Development Program in Kenya. The program is located in northern Kenya, in the Marsabit District. The program is designed to improve the ability of churches and local leaders to respond to their communities’ spiritual and physical needs. Pray that God would protect His workers and His children, and that He would touch the hearts of children and parents so that they would come to know Him. Pray that God would grant His churches the wisdom to oversee His work in this country.
Pray for the staff in Nairobi that supports the Food for the Hungry programs in the field.
