Week 1 - Government Leaders

• Pray for wisdom for President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and for reconciliation among those in authority as they serve and lead the Filipino people.
  
  
• Pray for peace and order in the Philippines, especially in Mindanao Island.

Week 2 - Churches

• Pray that the multiple denominations in the Philippines will be unified in their love of Christ. Although 95 percent of the population is considered Christian, a considerable number of Filipinos believe in animism and practice witchcraft. Pray that the churches will be obedient to Christ’s instruction and begin to see the grand purpose of God and that more families will come to know Jesus as Lord.

Week 3 - Families

• Pray for the strengthening and encouragement of families. Almost 50 percent of the population lives below the poverty line. Due to a lack of opportunities in rural areas, many people migrate to the bigger cities to look for jobs. To help their families, children often resort to selling newspapers, doing manual labor or begging in the streets. Pray for economic recovery and an increased number of employment opportunities so parents will be able to better provide for their children.

Week 4 - Partners, Projects and People

• Pray for Food for the Hungry staff in the Philippines. Food for the Hungry employs many national and international staff in the Philippines. Pray that they will have total dependence on God, physical and emotional strength, and protection and a passion for servant leadership for the people they help.
  

• Pray for the Child Development Program that helps 2,800 children in the Philippines —that God’s vision for the children, families and the communities would be achieved. Pray also for the CDP children who will be pursuing extended education with help from Food for the Hungry.

• Pray for success for the Samaritan Strategy Movement in the Philippines, that Vision Conferences will bear spiritual fruit.
