The Food for the Hungry staff in the Dominican Republic continue providing help to the many refugees after Hurricane Noel. Their efforts have been focused on the communities where Food for the Hungry has had a presence for many years.
In Las Flores (located in La Vega region) as well as El Tamarindo and Margara (near Santo Domingo) food, clothes, shoes and hygiene kits have been handed out to over 200 families. As the needs continue to unravel, the staff will look for the most appropriate ways to respond.
It appears that many families are beginning to return to their homes but are still in need of beds, mattresses and food. Please consider donating to Food for the Hungry to help provide the needed items to the families in need!
