People:
Iteso people. Used to be under control of rebels. When Museveni came to power, all rebels surrendered in 1990s. Kumi is underdeveloped.
FHI:
FHI founded an agriculture program called ALTI (Africa Leader Training Institute). It became a university in 1999 and was fully established in 2000 as Kumi University. Food for the Hungry Uganda a started Child Development Program in 2003, then the Bring Hope Project in 2004.
Languages:
English is spoken by everyone, except some of the elderly.

Simple guesthouse, food is starchy and heavy -- goat meat, beans, maize, sweet potatoes.

Brief description of duties:
- Find out the status of HIV children in the area
- Create a report listing the behavior of these children, including social involvement, family relations, various attitudes, etc. Include statistics such as family income, family structure, and available schooling
- Come up with recommendations on how to best support these children
