Bangladesh Flooding
Bogra region, BANGLADESH: On September 28, the embankment holding back the Jamuna river (one of the world's largest rivers) broke, flooding 10,000 households in the town of Kamalpur alone. Many of these homes belonged to FH savings group members, and they lost everything. Flood waters continue to rise, and we expect even more homes to be flooded in communities where FH works, especially Kamalpur and Dhunot.
A team from FH/Bangladesh is currently visiting affected communities to assess needs and determine an appropriate response.
