10 year-old Sarah, living in the central zone of the Dominican Republic, and her mother, Blasina, are far too familiar with being sick. Sarah was constantly ill from drinking the tap water. The contaminated tap water affected the health of many children and adults in the community. When the FH team met with leaders in Sarah’s community, they identified that the children and families of the community really needed a low-cost option for purified water. Through your support, FH and the community began construction and installed a community water purification system. Now Sarah and other children in the community are healthier because they can drink clean water.
