Seeds of Light

WRITTEN BY FH Staff

Reverien felt his farm was cloaked in long shadows of scarcity in his village of Burundi. He struggled to grow enough beans and maize to feed his family, let alone afford school fees for six children.

But when the FH team arrived, Reverien eagerly embraced the light of knowledge. Through agricultural training and improved seeds, his harvests multiplied beyond expectation. Soon, his family had plenty to eat, with surplus to sell.

This spark of prosperity grew. Reverien invested in more land and livestock. Today, his three eldest children illuminate their futures at university, while the younger ones shine in school.

“When I started to use the farming methods as taught by FH, my production increased and there is no longer food shortage in my family,” Reverien says.

His farm now employs 15 full-time workers and provides seasonal jobs to many villagers. As he trains other farmers in these transformative methods, the light of knowledge and prosperity spreads throughout the community.

From a single farmer to a community uplifted, your gift truly brings the light in Burundi, brightening countless futures.
